Dear Families,

As you are all aware, the soldiers at the machsom have been given strict orders not to accept food.

In the past, when we had similar issues, I was always able to get special permission through our connection to Hagudah Lemaan Hachayal.

Once again, I was in contact with Dudu Gilboa. I just spent the last hour and a half with him up at the base. He used all of his power and influence to renew our ability to "spoil" the chayalim. However, to no avail. Because of some recent serious security issues at machsomim around the country, we could not overturn the orders.

The best offer that was made was that we could enter the base and go to one certain waiting area and offer our services. In addition these exact details have yet to be worked out.

It is my opinion that such an arrangement lacks the meaning and spirit behind what we have been doing. It is a huge, very developed base with many different groups of soldiers there.

I am very proud of what we have done over the years. We have touched the lives of thousands of soldiers and succeeded in putting Chashmonaim on the map in a good way.

I thank you all very very much for your dedication and devotion to this project.

Every night of the week a volunteer family visits the two army check points located near to Chashmonaim. A supply box and hot water thermos is passed from family to family. Each family restocks supplies and brings with them fresh milk and a treat of their choice (i.e. home baked goods, ice cream, sandwiches, or soup) We go to the checkpoint beyond Maccabim en route to Yerushalayim and the check point beyond Kiryat Sefer en route to Nili. This chessed project provides a good feeling for both the soldiers on and off duty and the volunteer families. Anyone interested in joining may contact Deena Schwartz at deena64@gmail.com

כל לילה משפחה מתנדבת יוצאת מהישוב לפנק את החיילים הנמצאים בשני המחסומים הקרובים לחשמונאים. מתקן ציוד וקומקום עוברים ממשפחה למשפחה. כל משפחה מוסיפה את הציוד החסר, חלב טרי ונשנוש מיוחד (כגון: עוגת הבית, גלידה, כריכים, או מרק לדוגמא). נוסעים למחסום הקרוב למכבים בדרך לירושלים והמחסום הקרוב לקרית ספר בדרך לישוב נילי. המבצע הזה תורם לסיפוק מצד החיילים והמשפחות . למי שמעונין להצטרף נא ליצור קשר עם דינה שוורץ deena64@gmail.com
