Baseball Program

 

 

Dear Parents:

 

We welcome you to a new season 2009-10 ((תש"ע of youth baseball in Hashmonaim. Our program stresses education, athletic development, and competition within a framework of midot, sportsmanship,

and FUN. We fully coordinate with the regional and national leagues of the Israel Association of Baseball (IAB). This "chug," is truly a year-long value.

 

Beginning in September, fundamentals and individual skills are taught with less emphasis on team play. 

In the winter months, the coaches typically work on hitting, pitching, and team defense.  The players are taught how to play and think baseball – to recognize situations and to anticipate their own reactions. Sessions during the “rainy season” may be held indoors, at the coaches' discretion.

 

The IAB league season begins in the spring. Games are scheduled with other teams in our region and sometimes with teams outside of the Shfela (e.g. Jerusalem and the Sharon). 

 

In addition to the regular season, there will be opportunities for some players to participate in IAB tournaments (e.g. All Stars) and National Team programs. Last year, Hashmonaim had a number of

All Star players and was represented on 3 different Israel National Teams.

 


The baseball program is divided into three age categories (as defined by the IAB):

 

1.     Minors 7 - 10 year olds, (2nd - 3rd - 4th graders, born in 2000- 02).                     

      In this league the coaches pitch although a RIF (reduced impact) or regular "hardball" is used.

      This group is for beginners as well as some players who have a year or two of experience.                                                         

2.     Juveniles 10 - 12 year olds (5th - 6th graders, born 1998-01).                               

       This group is open to beginners (subject to the coaches’ discretion) and returning players. 

       At this level, "real" baseball is played – the players pitch and there is base stealing.

3.     Cadets 13-15 year olds (7th - 9th graders, born 1995-97).                                                

The cadets are considered an advanced level group open to veteran players. If there are enough players this year, the cadets will be divided into 2 teams: incoming 13 y.o.’s and older veterans.

 

 

 

REGISTRATION:

 

As with other chugim in the yishuv, no child will be permitted to play without registering for baseball with Bryna Hartman. First, register your child on the IAB website: www.baseball.org.il . Then, print out the form, sign it and bring it to Bryna during chug registration hours. The fee (NIS 1350 for minors and NIS 1500 for juveniles & cadets) may be paid in full at the time of registration or in up to 3 'tashlumim'.

 

A pro-rated refund will be considered if a child withdraws from the chug, depending on when the parent formally notifies Bryna. No refunds will be granted for a child who drops out after November 20, 2009.

FURTHER INFORMATION 

 

·         All teams practice/play on Fridays and a 2nd week day up to the IAB Hanukah tournament in December and during the spring league schedule.   

 

·         During the short daylight months when use of the baseball field on Fridays is limited, some practices will be scheduled at alternate locations, such as the deshe hagadol.

 

·         Rainy day or other make up sessions and/or additional sessions are scheduled on another weekday afternoon. The coaches will notify players in advance (via e-mail, phone calls or at school) of last minute changes.  All players are responsible for knowing where and when to come to practice and are advised to be in contact teammates and coaches on a weekly basis.

 

·         Transportation to away games, required medical examinations and other incidentals are extra charges that are not included in the fee for the baseball program.

 

·         Your child must bring his or her own baseball glove, water and a baseball cap to each session. Other equipment will be provided – with an emphasis on proper safety.

                                                    חוגי "בייסבול"

 

 

כמו בעבר, בשנה זו , שנת תש"ע (2009-10), חוגי "בייסבול" יתפקדו בתיאום עם האיגוד הישראלית לבייסבול  (IAB). מטרות החוג  הן: פתוח כשרון השחקן בספורט וקורדינציה עין - יד,עידוד משחק קבוצתי, חינוך להתנהגות ספורטיבית, וכמובן הנאה מהמשחק.

 

יהיו שלושה חוגים:

1.      מתחילים (Minors) לגילאי 7 – 10 (כיתות ב' – ד', תעריכי לידה בין 2002 – 2000)

 אין צורך בידע מוקדם בבייסבול (או באנגלית) להצטרף לחוג המתחילים.  עלות החוג - 1350 ש"ח

 

2. צעירים  (Juvenile) לגילאי 10 – 12 (כיתות ה' – ו', תעריכי לידה בין 2000 – 1998). עלות החוג -  1500 ש"ח.

 

3. מתקדמים  (Cadet)לגילאי 12 – 15 (כיתות ז' – ט', תעריכי לידה בין 1997 – 1995). עלות החוג -  1500 ש"ח.

 

רישום לחוגים ופעילות כל חוג יתקיימו אך ורק בהסכמת המאמנים. חוג של 12 עד 13 שחקנים הוא אופטימלי. חוג הבייסבול יערך כ- 30 מפגשים בשנה וינוהל בין חודשי ספטמבר ליוני. החוג כולל אימונים של כשעה ומשחקים שעורכים שעתיים או יותר.

 

החוגים יתקיימו בעיקר בימי שישי ועוד יום בשבוע עד חנוכה ובאביב. בתקופת החורף כשאין אפשרות שכל הקבוצות ישחקו במגרש,  חלק מהאימונים יערכו במגרשים אלטרנטיביים. יש אפשרות שמפגשים שבוטלו בימי גשם יתקיימו ביום אחר בשבוע. הודעה על כך תינתן באמצעות קשר דואר אלקטרוני או טלפון. משתתפי החוגים מתבקשים להיות בקשר כל שבוע עם המאמנים ו\או חבריהם בכיתה.

 

 תשלום עבור הסעות למשחקי חוץ, כפפה, בדיקות רפואיות ומטרות שונות אינם כלולים בתשלום לחוג. על כל משתתף להביא את כפפת הבייסבול האישית, כובע ומים לכל מפגש. ננסה לקנות במרוכז כפפות עבור שחקנים שאין להם כפפה.

 

 אף ילד לא יורשה לשחק בלי הרשמה רשמית עם איגוד הבייסבול ובריינה הרטמן וסידור התשלום.
