Josh was born and
raised in the US (Boston and Washington DC), and educated there, too .
He is married to the lovely Adina, and they have four lovely children.
Josh spent three years in doing agricultural research in Auckland, New
Zealand after getting his PhD, then came to Israel (Volcani Center) in
1986. He has worked at Volcani ever since, at first in fruit and
vegetable storage, and since 1989 as the scientist in charge of

, which translates as developing modern methods for observing ancient
mitzvot such as orla, kilaim, growing arba minim, and (of course) shmita
