כ"ט סיון תשי"ב - כ"ד טבת תשע"ז

Even though, David and his siblings were born in NY, USA, his family connection to Eretz Yisroel was very strong. Both his parents were born in Yerushalyim, in Batei Ungarin in Mea Shearim, with roots going back several centuries in Eretz Yisroel. Both his paternal and maternal grandparents emigrated to US, when his father was a teenager and mother was a child, late 1920’s and 1930 prior to the establishment of State of Israel. David had 2 maternal aunts who remained in Israel and has cousins in Israel as well.  David was always a religious Zionist and had strong feelings for Israel. His late beloved brother together with his family made aliyah back in the 1980s and his sister’s son made aliyah  in the 1990s. David actually lived as a temporary resident in Israel for 3 years around the time of the Yom Kippur war. He returned to US and  married  Denise , a few years later. When he finally made Aliyah in 2006, after he told his taxi cabdriver, that he was searching for  a neighborhood with high percentage of Anglos, for his wife; he was introduced to Yeshuv Hashmonaim. After arrival to Hashmonaim, he found a warm, accepting and helpful community.  David had many jobs since aliyah, including being a real estate agent for a brief time. He helped sell 2 homes in Hashmonaim, while being an agent. He also worked for Jerusalem Post in telephone sales to US. David became a member of Bet Knesset Yad Moshe.
At end of his life, when David needed help at home,  we were able to turn to our wonderful friends and neighbors here at the yeshuv., and found people to provide companionship and assistance at home.  David also received help from good friends and neighbors to drive and  escort him for chemo treatments at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital.
Our neighbors made Bikur Cholim visits, which helped to raise his spirits, both at home and when he was hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem. As his wife, I am very grateful to those yeshuv residents who supported David throughout the course of his illness.
We have one married daughter, who remained with her husband in US. She has 2 sons and a daughter.
