Yishuv-wide Bonfire
on Lag Ba'Omer
After last year's success, Va'adat Chiburim is once again hosting a
Yishuv-wide Bonfire on Lag Ba'Omer for Chashmonaim families. We are
happy to take any song suggestions you may have of songs in Hebrew or
English. This is a great opportunity for newer olim to join. We
promise that you will recognize many of the songs!
The bonfire will take place on Wednesday night, Or l'18 Iyar,
May 9th at 7:45 PM at the area next to the Mischakia (please refrain
from building other medurot in this space).
Drinks and Marshmallows will be served and ketchup will be available.
It is suggested to bring hotdogs, buns, and potatoes and onions
wrapped in aluminum foil. If you play an instrument and would like to
participate, please be in touch with Chana Schuster 050-4054088.

Tiyul Olim to the Headquarters, Psagot Winery, and
Visitors Center of Matte Binyamin
Discover Matte Binyamin, the region to which Chashmonaim belongs, and
visit the municipality, Psagot Winery, audiovisual presentations about
the area and a delicious meat lunch at the Visitors Center.
Everyone is invited to the tiyul on:

(Ulpan will not meet on this day)
We will leave the yishuv at 8:30 AM from the trempiada and arrive at
the Moetza (Municipal Headquarters) where we
will be given a presentation in English about Matte Binyamin. We will
then continue to the beautiful and relatively new Visitors Center
where we will take part in a number of special
experiences. Cost: 55 Shekels per person.
We will be returning to the yishuv from the tiyul at approximately
2:45 PM.

waiters)
8:30 PM Performance: “Not by Bread Alone” at the “Na Laga’at” Theater
in Jaffa 11 deaf and blind actors take the audience on a magical
journey to special lands, to lands of
darkness and silence…and bread. Bread is baked on the set, and
everyone gets to experience it.
The price is 80 shekels per person and include everything!

Shabbat Chiburim -"Connections"
Vaadat Chiburim presents Shabbat Chiburim!
The date is Shabbat Parshat Ki Tavo, Sept. 17. Shabbat Chiburim will
give families the opportunity to meet others from different batei
knesset.
Here's the idea: - Every family on the yishuv is
asked to invite another family from the yishuv for seudat Shabbat on
September 17ththat they have not already invited, who has a
different mother tongue. Hebrew speakers invite English speakers
and vice versa. We would appreciate all residents’ participation in
this endeavor. Feel free to invite a family you know or get
suggestions from us. Either way, please contact Chana Schuster to
let us know you'll be participating and which family you will be
inviting and hosting.

Tiyul Olim to Palmach Museum
Olim are invited to a tour in English of the Palmach Museum in Tel
Aviv on Friday morning September 16th (while your kids are in
school). Transportation by bus to and from the yishuv will be
available. The bus will leave the yishuv at 8:30 sharp and will
return at approximately noon. Space is limited to 25 people and
reservations are a must, so please contact me. The cost is 20
shekels per person. For anyone who made Aliyah during the past year
there is no fee.

Due to the success of the Advanced Ulpan we
started last year, we would like to request a continuation of ulpan to
begin around September. If you are interested, please send me your
name, teudat zehut, year of Aliyah, and cell phone #. It will
probably take place on Sundays and Tuesdays, 8:30-12:40 unless those
times cannot accommodate the teacher. If you can only commit to
coming one of these days during the week, you should still join, as
the classes on Sun. and Tues. cover different material.

Choose between 2 Laughter and Humor Workshops
which are being offered on Tuesday evenings, June 21st and June 28th
at 8:30 PM in the new Yishuv library. Please register in advance, as
space is limited, and please specify on which date you would like to
attend.
This workshop is being run by a group called "Joy of Life." The
presenter will use laughter and humor to help people create and
strengthen interpersonal relationships. You do not have to speak
solid Hebrew because the workshop
focuses on connecting people using the language of humor, so that
cultural and language barriers disappear!

| A representative from the center for guidance in
job seeking, a branch of Misrad Haklita based in Jerusalem will be
coming to Chashmonaim on Wednesday, May 18 at 9:15 AM in the Moadon
Mifgashim (at the end of Rechov Hatamr) to present the services
that the center offers. If there is interest, she is willing to come
to Chashmonaim every couple of weeks to work with individuals on their
job search, help with their resume and other services related to job
searching. I would like to know in advance who will be coming to the
presentation, to make sure their is enough interest, so please be in
touch with me if you would like to attend. |

Yerushalayim Theatrical Tour for Olim

This is a special tour
of the Old City led by Amuka Theater
to commemorate
Yom Yerushalayim. A
bus will leave from the Chashmonaim trempiada at 7:00 PM and take us
to the Old City where a theatrical guide will act out scenes to bring
stories of Yerushalayim to life. During the tour, we will eat a dairy
dinner in a restaurant. The tour will be in easy Hebrew with
translation to English when necessary so it's appropriate for new olim
as well. Non olim are also invited to join. Registration is
required, so please reserve your spots by May 11th by contacting Chana
