This election there will be a list of candidates who
are and have been active in OUR YISHUV activities. Our list members
are not only Vatikim in the community but they have been active for
many years, working to improve OUR community.
The "גל"
list members not only have excellent and proven skills in enriching
OUR Yishuv, but:
They have the TIME (unlike other candidates who work full time, most
are retired)
They have the EXPERIENCE (several former members of OUR
Vaad and Vaadot)
They have the ABILITY (proven by their community involvement in OUR
Yishuv)
They have the DESIRE (to improve OUR Yishuv for our families)
We have been active for many years, we continue to be active in the
YISHUV, and we want to continue to actively serve to contribute to the
YISHUV!

Although we love our Yishuv and are happy here, there is a very long
list of burning issues that need to be addressed by the next Vaad.
1) Encouraging the building of apartments for OUR children and
grandchildren (Young couples)
2) We still do not have a reasonable location, when needed, for burial
of Yishuv residents. Unfortunately, when a plot is needed, the family
must become involved in difficult negotiations and very painful
run-arounds before burial takes place.
3) OUR Yishuv needs an afternoon Tzaharon for young children. Working
parents have a very difficult time finding a suitable and reasonable
arrangement for their young children.
4) We need to find a good solution for the lack of parking spaces.
Service vehicles and residents have a difficult time driving between
cars parked on both sides of narrow streets.
5) We NEED a GYM for adults and youth in the Yishuv. We have talked
and planned for years. It is time to start building it!
6) Many empty lots are a danger to children. The Vaad has to demand
that the Moetza pass a
חוק עזר עירוני to allow us to require that lot owners fence
their empty lots. It is time that something
was done to ensure that lot owners clean and fence their empty lots.
7) There is precious little activity for young marrieds on the Yishuv.
We need to organize more activities with them.
8) Vaad meetings, unless involving personal issues, should be open and
publicized in a timely manner. When Dov Gilor and Yehuda Sugar were on
the Vaad, they issued unofficial reports immediately after each
meeting. Residents have a right to know what is being decided by the
Vaad in a timely fashion.
9) The Yishuv needs a Moadon for adult activities. It is time to
organize one.
10) Yishuv cleanliness is important. There are several areas that need
improvement:

Garbage collection is often
sporadic and messy. A different company has to be found to handle
it.
-
A specific day for the
collection of large items and cut grass and branches in the
designated dump areas should be publicized.
-
An additional street cleaner
is required.
-
We must also find a way to
enforce the law requiring dog owners to collect and dispose of their
pet’s droppings.
There are many other important issues (quality of the
environment, safety and security, mail service, youth, etc.) just too
numerous to mention here. There is work to be done by those who HAVE
THE TIME, the EXPERIENCE and the DESIRE to do the work!
Who are the candidates:
Dov Gilor, a former Systems engineer for IBM Israel, is known in the
Yishuv for the time he devotes as a volunteer to Yishuv activities. He
is a former Vaad member, has served as the Chairman of the Education
Committee and as a member of many other committees including Youth
Activity Committee, Yishuv Improvement Committee, Yishuv Security,
Yishuv Audit, Cultural Committee, and others. Dov produces the Yishuv
Telephone Directory and contributes all of the profits to YISHUV
charity and Yishuv Youth activities. Dov was the editor of the Yishuv
newspaper for several years. He was one of the founding members of the
board of Yeshivat Ner Tamid and was a member of the committee that
built the Glenwood Shul. He handled the planning of Gan Jamie and was
a police volunteer with the Mishmar HaEzrachi for many years in OUR
Yishuv. He was one of the original baseball coaches and was one of
those instrumental in building OUR Yishuv baseball field. Dov also
received an award from the President of Israel for his volunteer work
with new immigrants to Israel.
Ziona Sharoni, a former Vaad member, was responsible for youth
activities who worked to ensure that we had a paid youth director for
the many children in our Yishuv. Ziona was one of the founders of the
Moadon Hamifgashim, in the Yishuv. She was one of the founders of the
elementary school in the Yishuv and worked there for many years as a
teacher. Ziona, as a volunteer, organized the Yishuv library in the
school and organized youth and adult volunteers to run it. Today, the
library is a vibrant and exciting place for all Yishuv residents.
Ziona organized the Yishuv Museum, housed in the Yeshiva library for
the past three years, which contains collections donated by Yishuv
residents. The museum is visited by students of all ages. Ziona
arranges for seniors in the Yishuv to meet with school classes to tell
about their Aliyah and life experiences. Ziona also volunteers to
organize the "story hour" for school children. She was one of the
founders of the "Katedra" for adult seniors, that runs weekly programs
here in the Yishuv, so that the participants do not have to travel to
other communities. She initiated and organized the annual march to the
"Maccabean Caves". Ziona organizes lectures and computer classes for
Yishuv adults.
Yehudit Hadad, 57, married to Meir and mother to six children, has
lived in the Yishuv for the past 18 years. She served as a teacher for
18 years, four of which were spent as an Educational and cultural
Shaliach of the World Zionist Organization to Canada. Yehudit, a
Misrad Hachinuch retiree, is very active as a volunteer in the Yishuv.
She is a volunteer in the Moadon HaMifgashim for Yishuv seniors and is
very involved in summer activity planning. Yehudit is actively
involved in Yishuv holiday celebrations and helps organize the
decorations of the Yishuv Purim parade and the annual Israel
Independence Day Shivtai Yisrael Tent. Yehudit is also very involved
in organizing the activities of the local Sephardic Shul.

ביישוב יש רשימה של קבוצת פעילים ביישוב
לא כל מי שרץ לועד יודע מקרוב את הצרכים של תושבי היישוב. אנשי הרשימה
שלנו
לא רק ותיקים ביישוב אבל גם אנשים מאד פעילים ביישוב שלנו ופועלים שנים
רבות לשפר את היישוב שלנו.
יש לחברי רשימת ג"ל (גימלאים למען הקהילה) תכונות מיוחדות והם יכולים

ט) בניית מועדון לתושבים לפעילות חברתית
ועוד נושאים חשובים רבים.
מי ומי המעמדים? י
דב גילאור, מהנדס מערכות מחשב לשעבר בחברת יבמ ישראל, ידוע ביישוב כתורם
מזמנו לנושאים רבים ביישוב. חבר ועד בעבר, דב היה ראש ועדת חינוך, חבר
בוועדת נוער, ועדת שפ"ה, ועדת בטחון, ועדת ביקורת, ועדת תרבות וועדות
אחרות. דב מוציא כבר 15 שנה את מדריך טלפון היישוב ותורם כל הרווחים
לצדקה ולפעילות ביישוב. הוא היה חבר העמותה ואחד ממקימי ישיבת נר תמיד
ביישוב,
פעל להשיג תרומות לתלמידים נזקקים, והיה חבר בועדה שהקימה את בית הכנסת
גלנווד. דב לקח על עצמו טיפול בהקמת גן ג'מי לילדים ביישוב והיה שוטר
המשמר האזרחי ביישוב, עורך עיתון היישוב,
מאמן קבוצות ילדים של היישוב בבייסבול וטיפל בעוד נושאים רבים. דב קיבל
פרס נשיא המדינה עבור פעילותיו לסייע לעולים חדשים.
ציונה שרוני שהיתה בועד המקומי ואחראית לנוער דאגה לשריין תקן לעובד כרכז
נוער שנמשך עד היום
כמו כן היתה בין מיסדי בית הספר היסודי רמת מודעים ועבדה בו שנים רבות
כמורה ורכזת שכבה.
היתה בין מקימי הספריה הישובית בתוך בית הספר. בפעלה בהתנדבות .גיסה
תלמידים ומבוגרים להפעלתה . והיום הספריה הינה לתפארת לרווחת כול
התושבים.
ציונה הקימה את המוזיאון הישובי הפועל בישיבת נר תמיד זו שנה שלישית בו
מבקרים כול תלמידי בית הספר היסודי .ילדי הגנים. ותלמידים מהישיבה .רוב
האוסף תרומת תושבים.
מגיסת גמלאים תושבי המקום לספר על עליתם ארצה .ועל תחילת דרכם בישוב.
כמו כן העבירה ומעבירה בהתנדבות שעת סיפור בכתות השונות זה מספר שנים.
בין יוזמי הקתדרה ועמידה על כך שהקתדרה תפעל אך ורק בישוב חשמונאים
.כדי
למנוע נסיעות וטילטול של הגימלאים
בין יוזמות ומארגנות צעדה ישובית לקברות המכבים כולל שירה בציבור והדלקת
נרות בקברות המכבים.
יוזמת ומארגנת מירוץ הלפיד הישובי בחנוכה בבבית הספר היסודי במלאות לישוב

שנים .שכלל חלוקת תעודות ומדליות.
יוזמת ומארגנת בחנוכה משחק מחפשים את המטמון להכרת הישוב עם תלמידי בית
הספר היסודי.
יוזמת ומארגנת שעורים לנשים באנגלית ויהדות בספריה הישובית.
ושעורי מחשב והכול ע"י מתנדבים מוותיקי וגמלאי הישוב.
